Six years ago, President Donald Trump hailed his US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, as the “fairest, most balanced, and beneficial trade agreement we have ever signed.” Now, as the pact is up for review, Trump says he’s ready to abandon it.
“I’m not looking to renew it,” Trump said last month. “We don’t need anything that Canada has. We don’t need anything that Mexico has, but they need everything that we have. They have to treat us better.”
The USMCA, which replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement, facilitates roughly $2 trillion in annual trade among the three neighboring countries. All three countries are required to review the agreement every six years, and decide whether to renew it or make modifications.

Canada and Mexico have already signaled to Trump how they do not trust and do not plan to depend solely on America to buy most of what they grow or manufacture.
This big tough Trump act is just Trump trying to make it look like he’s dumping Canada and Mexico, .before they stop all trade with America completely. Trump is right now, way-behind all the 15 and 20 year signed trade deals Canada and Mexico has done in just 1.5 years.
See Canada’s newest, longterm deal with Europe to sell all of Canada’s aluminum production to them. None to U. S. manufacturer’s. A crippling blow to U.S. buyers needing aluminum, at a time of almost totally depleted U.S. aluminum stockpiles.
Canada sold their aluminum at higher prices into the European countries without tariffs imposed by Trump. A brilliant longterm deal by Canada.
Mexico has also seized on new, massive foreign trade deals.

It’s all Trump’s fault….every bit of it. Trump is still seeking to hurt Canada, Mexico and all other old trusted allied trading partners because Trump’s crooked scheme on Tariffs was all set in motion set-up Trump at head of the trade tables to collect his $$$Millions in side-deal-payoff’s to even allow these other nations to trade with American businesses at favorable tariff trade terms. The other nations refused Trump’s naked, crooked deals completely.

China’s whole 2025 one year standing order of $664 Million dollars in soybean purchases alone, was canceled because of Trump’s hate-filled attacks and tariffs on China.
No nation will do new business with Trump as President. Trump will have to be removed as President to see any change in this ” Complete Bypass” by other nations doing business with America.

Ditch? Is that what you call exercising an option in the treaty? Is that how you frame it when people move out of apartments or rentals because the rent is raised too high. Do you say they ditched their own lease agreement or do you phrase it more along the lines that the other entrant of the agreement created the condition through raising the rent unilaterally where the renters could no longer afford to live there?
