Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Caleb Flynn was seen bawling at the defense table after the guilty verdict was read in court Tuesday afternoon. The jury found Flynn guilty on all counts in the murder of his wife, Ashley, who was killed inside their home in February 2025. The verdict came after a trial that centered on prosecutors’ allegations that Flynn killed Ashley and staged the scene to look like a home invasion. Flynn will be sentenced next month. Former “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn is set to face trial in Ohio over the alleged murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Flynn has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and witness intimidation after Ashley was found shot to death inside their Tipp City home in February. On Thursday, Alleigha Botner, Caleb Flynn’s mistress, was back on the stand in his murder trial. He is accused of shooting and killing his wife, Ashley, in February 2026. Botner read more messages that were sent between the two before Ashley’s death. Some of those talked about how much Caleb hated his wife, him leaving her and asking for a divorce, and the idea of killing his wife also came up at one point. During the first day of her testimony, Alleigha Botner, Caleb Flynn’s mistress, detailed their relationship, acknowledging that she knew Flynn was married when their relationship turned sexual in March 2024. Botner testified that their relationship continued for more than a year. Caleb Flynn’s mistress was a major topic of conversation on the witness stand on Wednesday.
