Psychiatrist Dr. Sejal Shah took the stand Monday in the trial of Lindsay Clancy. Shah testified about treating Clancy during her hospitalization following the January 2023 deaths of her three children in their Massachusetts home. She discussed the medical team’s efforts to monitor Clancy’s condition, evaluate her mental state and determine appropriate treatment. Shah also testified about a DNR, or do-not-resuscitate order, and the events surrounding that decision during Clancy’s hospital stay. Lindsay Clancy is on trial for the deaths of her three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, who were found inside their Massachusetts home in 2023. Clancy has claimed she suffered severe injuries after falling from a second-story window following the deaths. On Monday, emergency medicine physician Dr. Kelly McDonough testified about Clancy’s condition, telling jurors she was found outside her home with serious injuries and was unable to move her legs. McDonough also discussed the injuries doctors treated after she was hospitalized. On Monday, two doctors who treated 8-month-old Callan Clancy testified about the injuries he suffered after he was allegedly strangled and found in cardiac arrest in January 2023. Callan was later transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital, where doctors continued efforts to save his life. His mother, Lindsay Clancy, is accused of killing Callan and his two young siblings with exercise bands inside their Massachusetts home. A second doctor testified about the severe brain injuries Callan suffered and said he was later declared dead on January 27, 2023.
