Massachusetts mom Lindsay Clancy killed her three young children inside the family’s home in January 2023 before attempting to take her own life. Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, were found with exercise bands around their necks. Prosecutors contend Clancy intentionally strangled the children, while her defense argues she was suffering from severe postpartum depression and psychosis that left her unable to understand her actions. During openings for the trial against Lindsay Clancy, prosecutors told jurors Lindsay Clancy “deliberately and meticulously” strangled her three young children after planning the killings while her husband was out picking up takeout and medication. Clancy’s defense attorney did not dispute that Clancy killed the children but argued the case hinges on her mental state, telling jurors she was suffering from severe postpartum mental illness and urging them to focus on what was happening in her mind at the time of the tragedy. On Wednesday, as the jury was deliberating in the case against Kianna Davis, the judge addressed a few notes that were given to her about their deliberations. One of the notes stated that there is a “juror combative to the room who is not up for discussion and will not change her mind in a million years,” and another note after that claimed the foreperson was harassing her for her vote. High school teacher Kianna Davis is set to face trial after being charged with murder in the 2020 death of 2-year-old Karter Ambrose.
