ICE agents to get electric shock gloves. Analyst sees ‘intense trouble’ 0 (0)

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and officers may soon be equipped with gloves that deliver electrical shocks, which the manufacturer says are intended to de-escalate encounters with individuals. ICE is planning to spend between an estimated $10 and $20 million to purchase the devices, known as CTG 5 G.L.O.V.E, which stands for Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter, according to a notice published Monday by the Department of Homeland Security. GOP rep. hits Jack Smith with criminal referral. Legal experts react 0 (0)

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, on Wednesday night asked the Justice Department to consider criminally charging special counsel Jack Smith, who previously prosecuted President Donald Trump, according to a letter sent to DOJ obtained by CNN. Jordan alleges Smith misled the committee in closed-door testimony late last year. Jordan’s concerns are largely based around Smith’s team of prosecutors obtaining text messages between Trump administration officials and members of Congress in their investigation of Trump and his top aides’ response to his 2020 election loss, according to the criminal referral letter Jordan sent to DOJ. Mitch McConnell to an ambulance on a stretcher after being called to his home last month for a report of an unconscious person, according to new video of the incident and an eyewitness account.
