I will try that method with oil, bake first. Last one I tried the bread was really light and airy. So tried pressing it a little. It still comes out crumbly …
Gotta love French bread pizza. Quick tip: I do a quick pre-toast of the cut bread, just enough to harden the top, and after I take it out, I cut around the edges of the bread and peel off the top to create a “boat” for the sauce and toppings. That way the cheese, etc. won’t spill over the sides of the bread.
Made these with my 8 and 4 year old sons. Yes, they fought me at every step that didn’t involve eating the pepperoni. We followed the recipe exactly. Verdict: 10/10. No notes.
