Flock Safety cameras are marketed as a tool to help police solve crimes, but Business Insider found that errors and failures to verify its alerts have put innocent people in harm’s way. We examined the records of one California city where in two years, 71% of 1,427 felony and stolen-vehicle alerts were misreads. Elsewhere, we identified drivers who’d been stopped, injured, or jailed after Flock leads went wrong.
