As of 5:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, September 3rd, there is still no verdict in the Lindsay Clancy trial, but today produced some major developments. The biggest development was an apparent dispute involving one juror. After roughly 35 hours of deliberations over six days, Judge William Sullivan brought jurors in individually and spoke with them at sidebar.
The reason became clearer afterward: according to defense attorney Kevin Reddington, the jury foreperson had reported that one juror was refusing to follow the judge’s instructions concerning reasonable doubt.
Crime Junkie breaking news reporter Briana Whitney recaps day six of the jury deliberations in the Lindsay Clancy case and sat down with Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell to break down what happened today and what can happen next.

Odds are all the man said is ” I don’t find that doubt reasonable”. If a person’s first instance of “losing touch with reality” or “hearing a voice” came after multiple google searches of how to off themselves, and after sending their husband on an errand, I wouldn’t be able to be convinced they magically heard a voice after all that planning. However, another person might have a reasonable doubt that it could occur. Just because they have that doubt, doesn’t necessarily mean another person is capable of having that same doubt, or that the doubt seems reasonable to others.
And ofc, only the 1 person is allowed to make the notes, so no one gets to hear their voice except the other jurors.
So, now we can remove jurors if they didn’t agree with the others 😮
