College football just delivered one of its wildest ranking shakeups of the entire season, and there are going to be some very unhappy fan bases this week. Let us start with the biggest winner. Florida jumped an extraordinary 13 spots in the AP Top 25 to land at number 8, their highest ranking since 2020, after an absolutely dominant performance against then-number 4 Mississippi, winning by 24 points in a result that nobody saw coming at that margin. It is a statement win that immediately puts the Gators back in the national conversation in a way they have not been for years. Now for the biggest losers. Penn State took perhaps the most stunning fall of the weekend, crashing all the way from number 13 to completely unranked after suffering a 24-20 home loss to Wisconsin. It marks the first time Penn State has been out of the AP rankings during the Matt Campbell era, a genuinely shocking development for a program that had been building serious momentum. Penn State were not alone in their misery — Michigan, Louisville and Texas A&M also fell out of the rankings entirely following their own disappointing results. At the top of the poll, Texas holds firm at number one, with Georgia at number two and Notre Dame at number three.
