Having one night match on Lenglen and one on Chatrier seems like a sensible way to do this. But i guess that would mean that they’d have to schedule the men’s match on Chatrier and the women’s match on Lenglen. Deciding it on short notice might not sit right with the audience who will have to choose either one stadium or the other in advance, not knowing whether they’ll see a men’s or a women’s match.
The reason is because the men’s game makes more money and they can monetise the night session better by making it unique. Not sure what the problem is; why would a business do something that makes it less money?
Why not debate why do women play best of 3 matches… Equal prize, equal duties.
Women play shorter matches than men because they play best of three sets. They shouldn’t even pay them the same!! Equal pay for equal play!!!
The tournament has to be successful financially in order to pay the prize money. Mens’ matches make money and subsidize the womens’ equal prize money. Until the WTA can afford to pay mens’ level money for their womens only schedule they should be grateful and not complain.
Women can’t play 3am matches if they don’t play in the night session. It’s a big advantage for women.
Offcouse it is crazy to see the biggest superstar sabalenka play when everybody is at work at only half full seats, 10 out off last 11 slams in SF.. When she normally play, the stands is full, exactly like when Steffi Graf played…
