Better trades, now made even faster. Mike Webster, senior market strategist at IBD, joins the Investing with IBD podcast to discuss the new upgrades to MarketSurge. He explains how new features like upgraded lists, proprietary ratings and changes to pattern recognition can help traders save time and get to the right trades faster than before.
The Investing with IBD podcast is hosted by Justin Nielsen and livestreams on YouTube every Wednesday at 5 PM Eastern/2 PM Pacific.

Please bring back the old version.
Mike and Justin are the “dynamic duo.” So appreciate of all their time, help, and expertise. What a great blessing to have them in our lives.
What happened to the community and IBD custom screens you could pull in? There was an awesome high tight flag screener that I can no longer find.
Email marketsurge@investors.com — they can give you the parameters to rebuild the screen!
Unfortunately, the new version represents a major step backward in usability compared to the Legacy platform.
One of the biggest strengths of the previous interface was that key information could be absorbed instantly just by glancing at the screen. The layout was structured in clear blocks and quadrants, making it extremely efficient for fast analysis.
In the beta version, that clarity has largely disappeared.
Some specific issues:
1. Loss of visual structure
Previously, the information was organized into clearly separated blocks, which made it easy to scan quickly. Now the layout feels much flatter and more compressed, making it harder to visually parse the data.
2. Quarterly data readability
Combining Quarterly EPS and Sales into the same table significantly reduces readability. Before, this information was much easier to digest at a glance.
3. Key ownership metrics harder to find
Metrics like Number of Funds and Management Ownership used to be immediately visible and easy to locate. These are important signals for many investors, and now they are more buried and harder to access.
4. Missing contextual information
The Legacy version displayed important context right at the top of the page, including:
company description
industry group
group rank
company website
This information helped quickly understand what the company does and where it sits within its sector. Removing or hiding this makes the analysis workflow worse.
5. Filter system regression
The new filtering system is significantly more limited:
The lock system is now restricted to only 3 filters
Custom filtering has become much less flexible
In the Legacy version it was possible to build very detailed and nuanced screens, which was one of the most powerful features of the platform. The beta version removes a lot of that flexibility.
Overall
The Legacy platform was excellent because it was fast, dense, and information-rich. The beta version simplifies the interface, but in doing so it reduces analytical power and speed.
In its current form, the beta version feels like a downgrade rather than an upgrade.
I strongly hope the team considers restoring some of the structural elements and flexibility that made the Legacy version so effective for active investors.

VIAV -; I bought at $23 hit $60. Did profit taking pullback. Should hit $120; by the end of the year. Growth stocks run and crash. See max chart of ROKU. Stops in
See my other post on VIAV. Did Market Surge predict that run. Do you use it. Did anyone who uses it predict 300% VIAV run using My market Surge ?
