A U.S. Army soldier is headed to trial for allegedly killing his wife at their Alaska apartment in August 2023. Saria Barney disappeared on a Sunday morning just hours after celebrating her husband Zarriusโs 21st birthday. What began as a frantic, days-long missing persons search involving Sariaโs mother and a seemingly distraught husband quickly took a sinister turn. Detectives tracking a digital and physical trail of clues uncovered damning evidence showing the young combat medic never made it out of her own apartment. Zarrius Hildabrand now faces trial for Sariaโs murder. Stream the entire trial live on Court TV.

Iโm sure it wonโt be life but pray the sentences are ran consecutively instead of concurrently.
Looked it up: 5 to 99 years. I would hope the judge sentences him to a long time. This guy is a real psychopath
The prosecutor botched this verdict!!! What in the F was that shitty ass cross- truly one of the worst Iโve seen and Iโve watched hundreds. Didnโt challenge him on his lies. Didnโt highlight his obvious ridiculous inconsistencies. Didnโt do jack and this is why when he gets out one day he will do this again. As a prosecutor you should dream of a defendant taking the stand and in a case this freakin simple it should have been a piece of cake to hammer him on cross. Her family deserved better and Iโm disgusted that the prosecution chose laziness over justice. Shame on that entire office. Pathetic.
First degree would be premeditated as in he planned to kill her. He killed her on the spur of the moment. Yes, he decided to do it in that moment but itโs not as if he bought the trash can before that night etc.
I donโt think the prosecutor botched anything. It was so glaringly obvious that he was lying and it wasnโt a suicide.
I actually thought her cross was good; she did point out his lies & inconsistencies, she did challenge him, so much so that the story changed from Saria accidentally killing herself, to I don’t know if I shot Saria, or not.
@BSmeterAussiechickI agree. She couldโve picked at every last little thing but she didnโt need to. Itโs why they charged first and second degree.
@Lokis@Lokisdottir1964y. And pre meditation can be decided in an instant. He cannot have selective memory and claim he doesnโt remember what he did only when it suits him. He is a monster and based on this crime itโs not hard to tell heโll do it again if he only gets the minimum sentence. I hope the judge throws the book at him
@BSmeterAussiechick I hear u, I just see it differently- with the length and depth of the case they presented this cross just was not okay imo. Iโve watched hundreds, good, great, bad, over and underwhelming etc. listened to lawyers analyze crosses and based on everything Iโve personally witnessed as a crime junkie..this was not a good cross in my eyes personally. Some juries need to know each and every detail to feel secure in agreeing on the harshest charge, some donโt, but I think this jury needed more to get to 1st. Heโs a scary individual and to think he could reenter society one day is terrifying bc I think hel do it again unfortunately

The defense attorney is absolutely ridiculous!
I wish he had been found guilty of 1st degree, but if the judge’s looks of disgust at ZH & his actions during this trial are anything to go by, I feel the judge will sentence heavily ๐ฅ โ๏ธ ๐ฅ
My heart goes out to Saria’s Mum, siblings & friends, especially today โค
Fly high sweet Saria โจ๏ธ๐๐๐โจ๏ธ
