Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Jones is the poster boy for that. Just like roman despots. He played his voice 24/7 on loud speakers to endoctrinate, little sleep, little food, long work hours, very little personal belongings, no no money. Kids beaten, thrown in dark pits for days. People beat in front of the congregation and humiliated into submission. Stripped naked, then body critiqued in front of groups. Everyone tattling on everyone else. No privacy. He had seggs with men/women humiliated some into it. Toilets a wooden hole 6 wide, no doors, no walls, so you pooped with 20 others. Communist tactics used on them for total control.

Yes and his army of soldiers that carried out his commands were left holding the bag when everyone died, they also were hypnotized . Because at some point they had to have some kind of common sense and see reality . I still am confused how he managed this without opposition from the people.
