The creatures here remind me of the ‘under earthmen’ in The Silver Chair (BBC Narnia Series, 1990)

Uncompelling plots, forced dialogue, overacted to cover for these flaws.

@fjccommish Yes, I cannot stand the supposedly epic monologues which are all about ‘being kind’ and how ‘love is not an emotion’.
These do not hold a candle to the Pertwee monologue to Jo Grant about the meaning of life in The Time Monster.
Classic Who at its best used monologues to complement plot ideas and themes.
Nuwho uses monologues to cover for a lack of a plot.
