Immediately after airing, orders came from “somewhere high up” to wipe the tapes for this series immediately. However, they said “Invasion” which only the first episode was called (to hide the surprise dinosaurs) so only episode one was erased. Why did they want this story deleted? Did “they” think something in the plot was too close to the truth?
this is not how it happened, in the slightest. stop watching RT.
@hamishwhitehenderson5197 What’s RT got to do with it?
MYTH:
“The master tape of the first episode of this story was mistakenly wiped when it was confused with episode one of Season 6‘s The Invasion.
FACT:
There is no evidence to suggest that this is why the tape was wiped; all the tapes for The Invasion were wiped in 1972, more than two years before Invasion of the Dinosaurs was transmitted. In addition, the procedure for disposing of older episodes would have made such a mix-up highly unlikely. That said, it is not known why only Invasion part one was wiped, and not the others.” SOURCE

Let’s go to Wikipedia for a moment:
“There is a longstanding fan myth that the tape of Part One was erased by mistake, having been confused with an episode of the Patrick Troughton serial The Invasion. In fact, BBC Enterprises issued specific instructions to wipe all six episodes of Invasion of the Dinosaurs, named as such, in August 1974, just six months after the story’s transmission; for reasons unknown, however, only Part One was actually junked. As far as the BBC was concerned, the story had been wiped in its entirety; researchers for the 1976 documentary Whose Doctor Who found that none of the episodes were listed as existing in the BBC library.[2″
@martinharris5017 I mention RT because it usually “less biased” 9read more insane) than the BBC. they give enormous amount of airtime to insane conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, George Galloway and yourself.
and yet they fail to mention all the times that HUMAN imperialism has completely destroyed the simple Clanger way of life, from introducing chocolate money and TV, to manufacturing the Hoot clanger conflict in an attempt to gain access to Clanger rock for Campbell’s soup company and the Musical industrial complex, in one of their attempts to steal the Clangers natural resources.
@hamishwhitehenderson5197 A Left Wing Clanger. Clanger Socialism. God help us all.
I don’t recall Clangers being present in any Doctor Who episode?….but….wait….maybe the Clanger episodes were erased?!
Doctor Who and the Hoot Clanger conflict: I must research that one.
She was always great at doing a hurt betrayed look.

Great stories, great acting, great characters, bad effects is much better than awful stories, awful acting, awful characters, WOKEism, great effects.
Apart from the T-Rex, the dinosaurs here look great.
Some embarrassingly poor (even for the times and the budget) special effects, and too much padding, but a fantastically clever storyline.
Somehow some dinosaur shots aren’t that terrible. They’re more charming than that dinosaur in the Silurians story imo
Nyder get out of there, this isn’t a Dalek history.
Terrified a 5 year old me, this one. I then remember going to the Doctor Who Exhibition Blackpool in the 70s and am pretty sure they had a dinosaur there that terrified me again!
