You should tell this young lady if it’s hard to find a job anywhere with her record she can always go to the oil refinery and get paid good money once a week, if she can’t directly get on through the oil refinery she could go through temporary agencies that can help her work there until she can get on permanently

Tyler Perry and Lee Daniels are clearly noteworthy, however, there are other screenwriters, script writers, and theatrical professionals with tremendous talent that can formulate and execute the production Brednet needs to draw attention to the topics and evolution of her life story. Surely they may consult, provide guidance and mentorship through the process.
It’s time for the next generation to be passed the baton. It’s time for the next generation of wealth to be created behind the scenes of the entertainment industry.

    Let it be independent.
If everyone in prison, previously imprisoned or the loved one of an inmate invested $1.00 or their talent . . . the production would be a phenomenal success!

Allow those prison storytellers the opportunity to write and produce. Others can market and distribute . . . that’s what many are incarcerated for, just another product.
Don’t go to Africa to find actors and train them for an American English accent; get the real deal. They already know how to “act”. Allow them the opportunity to create more opportunities so that when they are released, they have a viable craft/business. For those who may never see the streets of any city again, allow them to have a sense of pride in having participated in something greater than themselves.
Gatekeepers no more. Gatekeepers created pathways to the prison door, others held the prison doors open and yet others blocked the exits. Gatekeepers no more.
