How one soldier survived 346 days in ‘kill zone’ Ukraine | Video Diary 0 (0)

For 346 days, Ukrainian soldier Serhii Krynitskyi lived and fought from a hand-dug underground shelter on the deadliest edge of the frontline, known as the ‘kill zone’, near Chasiv Yar. He kept a video diary, documenting his struggle to survive while being hunted by enemy drones. Both the comrades he was stationed with were killed defending the position. Cut off from his brigade and resupplied only by drone, Serhii endured winters in a dugout he said he wasn’t sure to call “a shelter, or a grave.” Serhii’s video diary was shared with Reuters by his unit, the 24th mechanized Brigade.
