The prosecution is seeking to move the upcoming trial of former sheriff Shawn Stines to another location. Several witnesses testified about the trial and the widespread publicity surrounding the case. Stines is accused of gunning down Circuit Judge Kevin Mullins inside a small courthouse in Letcher County, Kentucky, in 2024.

Prosecution obviously doesn’t think it’s a good idea to have the matter taken care of in this County since it hits so close to home . I kind of agree with him . The defense “Don’t you think we can Try this case here where so and so has his constituents and have a Fair trial ?”. The defense has more favorable view that an impartial jury is possible ( or does he ) .
