HE SHOULD HAVE GOT LIFE WITH NO PAROLE.
Should have got life with no parole.
Have they sentenced him yet?
More of Cody! Fantastic reporting
What do you expect in a classic case of jury nullification? Southern states have a long documented history when it comes to black people in court cases. Hollywood even made a movie about it called Mississippi Burning
Here’s the history for those who claimed it didn’t occur
In the United States, racial discrimination in jury selection has a long history, even though a series of judicial decisions has determined that such discrimination violates the rights of defendants.[1] While the racial composition of juries is not dictated by law, racial discrimination in the selection of jurors (regardless of the jury’s ultimate composition) is specifically prohibited. However, the phrases “all-white jury” or “all-black jury” can raise a host of expectations – among them, the expectation that deliberations may be less than fair.[2]
Current precedent and legal challenges
Further information: Jury selection in the United States § Faults within the jury selection process
Under the standard set forth by the United States Supreme Court in Strauder v. West Virginia and Batson v. Kentucky, the striking of a juror on account of race denies a defendant equal protection under the constitution. However the court held that a defendant is not entitled to a jury containing or lacking members of any particular race, and the striking of jurors for race-neutral reasons is permissible. This standard has been extended to civil trials in Edmonson v. Leesville Concrete Company and on the basis of gender
No Racial Discrimination here! Black kid stabs whitish kid! He DID IT ON PURPOSE! His supporters were screaming and yelling and being highly aggressive towards the Metcalfe family, today! They should have all had their butts hauled off to jail! In a big WHITE PADDY WAGON! 😡
Both Josh and Cody are very interesting to listen to. I enjoy their dialog.
