South Florida developer George Pino is charged with vessel homicide and manslaughter in a 2022 boat crash that killed 17-year-old Lucy Fernandez and left another teen permanently disabled. Prosecutors allege Pino was operating the boat when it slammed into a channel marker near Boca Chita Key, while the defense argues the crash was a tragic accident and that there is insufficient evidence to support the charges. Pino reportedly admitted drinking two beers and claimed another boat contributed to the crash. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Oh man I feel for this man. Anyone blaming him for a terrible mistake in judgement hasn’t clearly driven a boat or made a mistake in life. This little girl was his daughter’s best friend, like a daughter to him, he made a terrible mistake!
