Two journalists for NBC4 in Los Angeles died in a news helicopter crash on Tuesday while covering a deadly bus accident. The fiery tragedy unfolded live on the air with anchors Colleen Williams and Jonathan Gonzalez, who reported losing contact with their flight crew. News veteran Robert Kovacik, who was on the scene, burst into tears when he learned his co-workers were likely dead. The victims have been identified as Eliana Moreno, NBC4’s helicopter reporter and photographer. Her pilot, George Marciniw, was also killed in the crash. He’s said to have had more than 30 years of experience as a pilot. He was also a flight instructor and photographer.
