Nonsense. Trump and his idiot lackey Hegseth have painted themselves into a corner . Once upon a time Europe might have been willing to step up but no more.They have been repeatedly abused and dissed by the US administration, had tariffs randomly imposed/removed and in short been jerked about by Trump et al for long enough to realise what the US administration is. So to Trump, Hegseth and probably Miller I have two words and the last one is OFF.

We all knew hegseth was incompetent and a weak blowhard – but did not know he is as weak as he is. He is also putting our country at a real risk as he gets rid of Generals and Admirals and others that know how to keep us safe. Russia and China are loving the situation hegseth and tramp are putting us in. Russia and China are reaping the benefits of a weaker U.S. that they did not do one thing to make it happen except sit back and watch.

Apparently America is tired of having near unlimited amounts of soft power and the immense wealth it provides them. The cost of being the global reserve currency and all the benefits that come with it, is that you take leadership on ensuring the free and open trade routes with your allies. Instead, this petulant administration has decided to take the approach of a mob boss and thinks it can just walk away when the bodies start piling up without consequence.
If America continues down this route, it will lose global hegemony. If America abandons the GCC, they will turn to China who will be able to negotiate the opening of the straight in return for oil being traded in Yuan. If that happens, the age of Pax Americana is over.
