A handful of severe but isolated crises in a few chronically fragile countries is not, under any honest definition, a synchronized global uprising, coordinated revolution, or the imminent collapse of Western civilization. In CNN’s latest hysterics, name-dropping a tiny cluster of nations while the other ~190 countries on Earth remain stubbornly free of riots, pitchforks, or spontaneous regime change, is remarkable selectivity.
Even more remarkable is the selective amnesia! When oil prices soared well past $100 a barrel under Biden in 2022, and Brent crude spent an entire year averaging right around that level, CNN somehow managed to frame the situation with the calm detachment of a weather report. No breathless declarations of worldwide chaos. No wall-to-wall doom reels. Just the usual careful calibration of narrative to protect the preferred team.
The pattern is almost elegant in its predictability: when the wrong guy is in office, isolated trouble becomes existential apocalypse. When the preferred guy was in office, the same underlying pressures were just “complex global dynamics.” Bias this consistent stops looking like journalism and starts looking like performance art, especially with the midterms coming up. Independent voters remember and are not fooled by all this fake news being spewed. 😂
“Skyrocketing fuel prices”… Here in Europe we pay a far more higher price for fuel. But we do not ride in 5.0 utterly inefficient and stupendously oversized cars. We are also hit, and it is problem. But we pay +/- 10 $ a gallon for diesel. So stop whining…
