Ferrari’s first fully electric car is already dividing fans. Critics say the $640,000 EV looks more like a Nissan Leaf or “a bar of soap” than a Ferrari, but the company may not care. Bloomberg’s Craig Trudell joins Open Interest to explain why Ferrari only needs a handful of wealthy buyers to make the Luce a success, and how the brand could use the EV to unlock access to future supercars.
The car’s launch comes as demand for high-end electric vehicles has become harder to predict, with some rivals slowing their electrification plans due to a lack of buying interest.
The Luce’s design, which was shaped by Apple Inc.’s former head of design Jony Ive, drew largely negative reactions from industry analysts and social media influencers.

It looks so cheap.
Comparing to a Honda is actually an insult to Honda.
Would not pay $600k on a Italian Prius.
I honestly thought there couldn’t be a uglier design than that of the new iPhone 17 Pro—in “Garbage-Truck Orange” with that hideous camera bump—but then a former Apple designer went and topped it, creating the ugliest cockpit ever and turning it into an iPad wasteland featuring a steering wheel that looks like Lego!!! As for the exterior design, everything that needs to be said has already been said! I haven’t heard or read a single positive opinion about it yet!
Montezemelo: “At least the Chinese aren’t going to copy this car.”
No, because you copied a Chinese car.
Ferrai’s definitely trolling us. They’ve got something in store that will surprise the market.
Ferrari will never recover the fees paid to Ive.
So ….Ferrari has willingly traded in all their history and reputation…… just to simp for some wealthy, gay mainlanders 🇨🇳 🍯 🐻??? 🤔 🤷
