The talks between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump have struck a broadly positive tone so far, with Trump calling his counterpart a “friend,” and the two leaders agreeing to establish a new “constructive, strategic, stable relationship,” according to the Chinese foreign ministry.
Amid all the talk of cooperation and collaboration, however, one statement stood out: a stark warning from Xi about what’s at stake if the US crosses its so-called red line on the sensitive topic of Taiwan.

Taiwan is unfinished business from conflict between Mao and KMT. Biggest challenge is for US America NOT to interfere in the internal affairs of China and Taiwan.
