By 2025, investigators had found Marina Ramos’s two missing daughters, but one question remained for Melissa: who was her biological father? When Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Lori Miller uploaded Melissa’s DNA to Ancestry, it matched a woman named Victoria Garcia. Because Victoria didn’t appear in the results for Melissa’s sister, Tina, she was likely connected through Melissa’s father’s side.

Lori messaged Victoria, hoping the conversation could identify Melissa’s biological father and potentially another person in Marina’s life before her murder. Victoria blocked her. When Melissa reached out herself, Victoria blocked her too. Investigators are not saying Victoria has any connection to Marina’s murder, and there is no evidence of that.

They also aren’t certain “Victoria Garcia” is her real name. But genetically, the person behind that profile appears to be part of Melissa’s biological family, and that branch of the family tree could help answer who was in Marina’s life before she was killed in Arizona.

So funny. One reason I’ve never looked up my family. I kinda dont wanna know but do at the same time. Very confusing feeling.
My whole life ive always expected a detective, fbi whatever to contact me. My father is apparently high up in a MC. And I know he hasnt been pretty in that life for over 40 yrs. Not gonna type which one. Dont want to invite bad.

I thought le wasn’t supposed to use Ancestry. But regardless a lot of people want ethnicity. A new bio parent totally upends someone’s identity. This person may need some soul -searching before responding.

i was contacted by a detective re: a cousin i hadn’t spoken to in over 20 years.

    he’s currently blocked.

he was rude AF. speaking to me as if i was just required to answer his questions over the phone w|o him answering _any_ of mine.

    sir, bye.

    that’s not how this works.
