A heavy-duty stand mixer is an investment, but it’s an essential for serious home bakers. Adam Ried compares the updated KitchenAid stand mixer to its European equivalent, the Ankarsrum stand mixer. Adam takes Bridget through the pros and cons of each machine, and shares how they compared when it came to whipping egg whites, creaming butter, and kneading dough. He also talks about the importance of torque–the rotational force that pushes dough through the bowl–as well as each machine’s updates and overall ease of use. I literally just got introduced to the Ankarsrum Mixer and I am truly in love 😍 I’ve been baking since I was 10, but got into bread baking later in life — and THIS is the Holy Grail of mixers 👑🍞 Now I completely understand why bread bakers are obsessed… because now so am I 😭
Lord bless me with one – pretty pretty pretty please with a cherry on top.
1940s 😮 So just last week 😂
Rhubarb juicers. Test
I have my Ankarsrum since 2000 when I moved to Europe, an paid 400 pounds, and the Kitchen Aid I had someone bought it at my garage sell for 75 pounds.
Walmart here has a deal on reconditioned Kitchenaid for $25 a month. I got a red bowl lift style. One thing I didn’t know was how much taller it is.
Kitchenaid is the worst ever. Overpriced and weak
I love my Ankaraum. There is a learning curve for us Americans, but the videos and cookbook that comes with it make it easy to adjust to. So easy to add ingredients and see what is happening. Easy to clean too. I got tired of KitchenAid burnouts. That adds to the cost.
The stand mixer market is overpriced, uninspired, junk.
