William Shatner and his daughter, Melanie Shatner, open up to @People in the magazine’s latest cover story, sharing their secret, simultaneous cancer battles. Melanie was first diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2022 after discovering a lump beneath her breast, which she initially dismissed as ‘just a bug bite.’ A year later, the 95-year-old actor learned he had stage 4 melanoma, which spread to his lungs and brain. By late 2024, doctors declared both cancer-free. Now, the close-knit duo is launching a health, wellness and longevity podcast, ‘No Time But Now,’ debuting July 29.

I was born when Shatner did Star Trek Generations at age 64. I’m 32 and he looks and sounds like he’s aged 5 years since I was born.
