Nope. Women’s tennis as predictable as pro wrestling. Rybakina was cruising then she blinked. Whiffed on a forehand then dumps a shot in the net. She is not mentally tough and iga did nothing to raise her game. Rybakina lost the match. Iga didn’t win it.

Iga did plenty to turn that match around. For starters she adjusted her return position in the second set by moving back and got more return in on Elena’s first serve which put more pressure on Rybakina. Iga also upped her first serve percentage and improved its placement. Finally she started moving much better in the second set, I think the stat was 9.4/10 per movement quality. She fought back and you just didn’t pay attention.

After losing Wimbledon last year,Iga was no where near what she used to be. I do hope this game will turn things around for her. Wish her the very best.

Hopefully so but Iga even does not realise how excellent player she is and the clay shows her real class! Best tennis rally of the season- the highest level professional tennis performance from Iga and Elena! Consistency is the proof of your level, elegance and mastery of the tennis craft but most of all- the intelligence- tennis IQ & mental integrity! Iga is just the best ever player on clay and the whole full stadium was cheering her rally with Elena! Iga looks for constant perfection, her intensity is surreal and her athlethism just unparalleled- the power of the top-spinning forehand just lethal! But its the calm and precision seeking mindset that makes it so spectacular!
You are right, Rybakina let off slightly and it cost her the match.. This was supposed to be a Swiatek demolition period!
An awful lot of conjecture all i saw were FACTS.
Swiatek was on a hidin to nothin in 1st. set barely avoidin the dreaded bagel, set over then proceeds for tactical bathroom break, comes out and turns the match completely on it’s head, what could possibly explain the difference in her play ??
Strange how Swiatek never needs a toilet break whenever she wins a set ??
Many other players do the same, today Zheng went to the toilet. Why dont you call out them?
