Years ago I bought a book from now-closed sci-fi/fantasy bookshop Andromeda in Birmingham, and when I got home I saw someone had scribbled their name inside on the first page. It also happened to be the same name on the book’s cover. Ruined!

@jarnopp Still got the book, but can’t remember which book it was or even the name. The writer must’ve done a signing at the bookshop, whoever it was 😃 And as I’ve hundreds of novels, I ain’t spending hours looking for it! 🤣
That’s as bad as those books with pictures and the name of the book all over the front cover.
Physical media. It is easier on the eyes. It does not require charging. You can lend it to someone, and you can read another book until it is returned.

Physical books – its like that story I told you about the Hemingway book where there was receipts of a French cafe and notes where the previous own of the book went to france to follow in the footsteps of Hemingway – Iove finds like this in books.
