I’d nominate Nishikori and Kyrgios. Nishikori was one of the most consistent players in the big 3 era to make a GS final, and Kyrgios is arguably the most talented player to make and lose a GS final (if you don’t count doubles ofc).
US open against Thiem was really his only shot at coming close tbh. Really hope he can figure it out
