No they are not “ultra traditionalist Catholics”. They are traditional catholics.
The church itself does not understand itself.
The traditional Latin mass was a European institution for centuries that was brought to all parts of the world. Post WW2 and the new world order demanded a more universal church of Vatican 2 and a need to reach the “masses” and viability of the church in the Americas especially. The newer generations were not multilingual like their immigrant grandparents and were confronted by the language of mass media.
Where the problem comes from is the failure to understand why this traditional mass so deeply touches the human person. The Catholic Church can easily survive this with the right papal leadership.
The now newest protestant.
Its all about power.. Its what the Church has always been about and why the Reformation was so necessary. Pope’s excommunication is meaningless.. All who believe in God are embraced by Him in heaven
