I’m certainty not an attorney but I think the defense did the best they could with what they had. Toby Shook is an excellent attorney. I don’t know anything about the other guy. But even their star witness was a better witness for the prosecutor. The big problem for the defense was: Karmelo Anthony was guilty!

According to Frisco ISD’s 11-minute video, four students jumped him. In that video, the four boys were the aggressors. Karmelo has epilepsy and an injury in his shoulder. In the video, he was seated the whole time until the twins and the two other boys confronted him. The twins were 6ft, 230 lbs, not including the other boys. Karmelo was 5’8 130 lbs. Yet again, NONE OF THIS WAS MENTIONED IN COURT. The defense wasn’t trying to win. They failed them. The guy working with him actually worked with the prosecutor before. The judge, prosecutor, and father of the twins are friends. The town has a history of bias and generations of alleged corruption. No experts. Not many objections. NO real closing. He did his BEST? OMG!! The three black potential jurors were educators, and according to them, they would be too sympathetic, but there was a white female educator on the jury. UGH.
