hey yall let me just say, i might have been a bit unclear when talking about the watcher subscription thing! i don’t think $6/month is affordable for everyone (especially internationally) i just had an issue with influencers/drama channels blowing it out of proportion and pretending THEY couldn’t afford it when they had a million subs! if you are a regular civilian, you are well within your right to not want to pay/be able to afford $6USD, i just go insane when obviously wealthy influencers pretend to be poor for clout! okay love you byeee
My issue is that they were attempting to paywall content that you can find on the internet a hundred times over. I pay for Dropout because it’s worth the $6 to me, and they create a lot of unique and fun content. I hate that Watcher set a precedent that more creators might follow in the future despite creating mediocrity.
Like don’t waste our time, you’re just doing the same thing you were doing before only trying to siphon more money out your fans Watcher

@Michelle-s2z6l that’s fair but I also think the way dropout works is just so fundamentally different than what watcher was doing. Dropout started with several separate series and has expanded into dozens of series plus original long form content. Watcher was launching with their same one series (that is now changing from being free to paid) and will eventually add new separate series.
