Overpriced concessions are Trump’s grift on the 4th of July. By restricting families bringing in coolers and water, how can parents tell their children they have to suffer from thirst because of a $9 bottle of water. $40 for a family of four and hopefully they stretch that water out all day long. What a great Fourth of July in Washington DC!. The president’s speech focused around the historical flags and individual veterans who came on stage — most of whom were over 100 –and what they had done. An exception was Francis Scott Key’s great-grandson, an Army major, who brought out the flag that flew over Fort McHenry when the Star-Spangled Banner was written. Can’t get more patriotic than flags and veterans! What a fine history was displayed!
The fireworks were wonderful, and everybody there was dancing and singing along to the music by service members in uniform. Little kids, fathers holding up their children, young couples hugging. Really a terrific 250th!
