I don’t think any actor played more cripples than Lon Chaney Jr – and this, Tod Browning of Freaks! Unquestionably, one of the most talented producers and directors of his day!
Lon Chaney, Sr and Lionel Barrymore – two of the greatest actors of the 20th century and cannot forget Gilbert Roland, A Tale Of Two Cities – “It is a far far better thing I do…” and beautiful Mary Nolan! If not mistaken, she was in Taming Of the Shrew with Douglas Fairbanks Sr, another silent, another great movie!
I would binge watch the silent flicks of Lon Chaney, Jr. Some of the traits of his characters are bizarre and psychological horrors filled with revenge – all the more fantastic. This is short, in comparison but none less thrilling.

Ronald Coleman was in A Tale of Two Cities. Smoothest voice in Hollywood. Gilbert Roland was the Spanish captain in The Sea Hawk. He was also The Cisco Kid. Engaged to Clara Bow briefly.
And are you thinking of Warner Baxter? Gilbert Roland wasn’t even in this film.
I knew this was going to be a good movie when I saw that it was controlled by Loew’s Incorporated.🙄
