How is dealing with distraction not count at multitasking?

Shouldn’t “stop multi-tasking” be about ignoring everything around you?

To me, dealing with distractions is the very definition of multitasking
Anyways, I’m trained to multitask, and I can’t imagine working a job that wouldn’t require multitasking. It’d be a boring job.
