We are learning more this Monday as President Donald Trump signs executive orders that work to shrink the size of two national monuments in Utah. According to Deseret News, the move targets a combined 5,094 square miles of land. President Trump’s action will reportedly reduce the size of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments. U.S. Senators from Utah, Republicans Mike Lee and John Curtis, joined Trump inside the Oval Office for the announcement. Utah Governor Spencer Cox also spoke during the White House event.

So 52,000 protesters killed. Protesters in this country should be grateful that they’re able to do such a thing in this country. But yet a lot of them hate this country. I think they should go to Iran and protest. Can you imagine if this country took out people because they were protesting. I don’t think there would be very many protests in this country lol.

You can hunt and fish on these lands. This is a lie. And…”they took the land from the people” is insane. Why are there no Tribal leaders at this? They rant and rave about the “holy land” in the Middle East, but this sacred land is being sold to the energy industry. This is disgusting. Also, this place is so sparsely populated, the idea of “locals” in these areas is laughable.

One of the most beautiful states I’ve ever worked in. Have worked in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, New York, Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, Alabama and Puerto Rico. Utah is a land of amazing huge rock sculptures, all created by God.

Trump is again lying to the American people. All he did with this was open the National Monuments to mining. Don’t believe me just read the Executive Order.

    It’s always the same play.

On July 13, 2026, he removed national monument protections from millions of acres of public land in Utah.

Then come the lobbyists. The developers. The mining companies. The energy deals. Everyone waiting to cash in.

They call it progress. I call it predictable.

Before the change, Bears Ears and Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monuments covered more than 3.2 million acres combined.

    After the proclamations:
    • Bears Ears: 1.36 million acres → 121,100 acres
    • Grand Staircase–Escalante: 1.87 million acres → 181,500 acres

That’s a reduction from more than 3.2 million acres to about 302,600 acres—nearly 2.9 million acres, or roughly 90% of the protected monument area.

Our parents died protecting our freedoms and land. Do we the people have a voice anymore?
