The reality is someone has to pay this cost. If you think paying someone $20 for an hour of childcare is too much, you can’t have kids or you have to watch them yourself! Childcare workers need to live too. You see how much things cost. Look at housing prices, they doubled in a few years. There is no such thing as affordable anything anymore

In 2023, Vermont passed a landmark law called Act 76, a large-scale reform of its childcare system.

    Key features include:

Massive public investment: about $125 million per year into childcare
New payroll tax (0.44%) to fund childcare long-term
Expanded subsidies so more families qualify for financial help
Some families now pay much less—or even $0—for childcare depending on income

👉 By 2024–2025, eligibility expanded to cover middle-income households (even up to ~575% of the poverty level)

Well someone should of opened a cheaper child care center. Then they would of had a great business. If a company can’t afford to pay a person a wage that can’t pay for childcare maybe their wife should get a relative to watch their children. Or not work
