Josie Dikeman is accused of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 6-year-old Alexavier Pedrin. Authorities say Dikeman called 911 in February 2023 when the child was unresponsive, and an autopsy later revealed he died from blunt force trauma, with a sedative also contributing. Investigators allege a history of abuse, with witnesses reporting repeated violence and prior medical concerns, including a suspicious femur fracture, before his death. Dikeman was reportedly dating the child’s father at the time of the little boy’s death. She faces life in prison if convicted.

It seems that people often want the accused to be guilty despite evidence (and in this case lack thereof) and testimonies. Regardless of everyone’s judgements, biases and criticisms, the people involved in any criminal case are real people. I just get the impression that many observers (and maybe even the jury) are more interested in condemning someone rather than being objective. It’s completely heartbreaking what happened to Alex – he was only 6 years old with so much life left to live. And it was tragically taken from him. It’s so sad to see the brokenness that exists in the world. But why is it so difficult for observers to be objective while being empathetic at the same time? The investigative team clearly failed Alex, the evidence was not beyond a reasonable doubt, and the testimonies were extremely unreliable. And because of this, no one is capable of proving that Josie did this. Or Derek. This trial was a disaster. It’s so disheartening that this is how our justice system works. Maybe she was guilty? But maybe not, and it’s terrifying that this could and does happen to innocent people. This trial should be an example of why a thorough investigation is so important. The defense’s closing statement summed this up – and the jury still didn’t listen. I just want to know what facts I could have missed that led to ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’. Because I didn’t hear any. She should appeal for sure.
Her attorney should be punished for how he behaved in court that behaviour is shocking he was bang out of order for his comment I have never seen anyone aloud to hug family and never seen someone that’s convicted not go in handcuffs I think her attorney should be put in handcuffs for the way he behaved

The amount of pain this poor child went through is utterly heart breaking. How we, as complete strangers can break our hearts over children that we never knew and were not our own, compares to this hideous woman’s crimes just dumbfounds me. A dear, sweet innocent 6 year old boy left to suffer with so much neglect at her hands…and the internal damage to his organs !? I just can’t comprehend… thank the heavens for this jury – NOW NEVER LET HER BE FREE!!! Rest in peace darling Alexavier x
