South Florida developer George Pino is charged with vessel homicide and manslaughter in a 2022 boat crash that killed 17-year-old Lucy Fernandez and left another teen permanently disabled. Prosecutors allege Pino was operating the boat when it slammed into a channel marker near Boca Chita Key, while the defense argues the crash was a tragic accident and that there is insufficient evidence to support the charges. Pino reportedly admitted drinking two beers and claimed another boat contributed to the crash. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

That prosecutor was undeniably unprofessional. She had no case, and I think she knew it so she grabbed at anything and everything to try to convince this jury to see it her way. She tried to gaslight them. She lied more than once. She was literally yelling at the jury, almost belittling them. She acted like a maniac. From her actions, her tone and her hateful demeanor, I’m convinced she has a personal vendetta against the Pino’s.
I agree!!
He got away with murder. He was reckless and impaired. Should be charged with child abuse for serving minors alcohol
I lived in Florida on my sailboat for a number of years, actually in Miami and here’s my observations; Florida is the “wild west of boating” and crashes and deaths will continue unless the state of Florida does something about the situation. I would like to see one simple enforceable rule put in place and that is a boat speed for ALL MARKED CHANNELS. This was an avoidable accident but an accident none the less. I left Florida and one of the reasons was the lack of rules for boats in channels.
All this trial taught me is that if you’re a rich millionaire you can be as reckless as you want, kill a young girl, fake cry in court and get away with it. I hope he’s recognized in the worst of ways everywhere he goes.
No respect for the victims family couldn’t even wait for them to leave the courtroom to celebrate how disrespectful is that & even one of his own solicitors couldn’t hold his emotion when it was read no shame what so ever towards the girls family who showed more respect & didn’t break out in emotion at the verdict which is what they should have done. Just because you was found not guilty I hope it haunts him that he was responsibility for the death of the girl & leaving one permanently disabled ever single day even if it was a tragic accident or not as it should never have happened & more care driving should have been taken instead of increasing the speed before it happened
Where else can you “drive” on the wrong side, wreck killing a passenger and get away with it???
This jury did a complete disservice! Shame!
This right here is where the acquittal was won, by explaining the elements of both charges everyone on the jury, and everyone else who was listening, immediately had a multitude of reasonable doubt. As a retired ship’s Captain I would have convicted him, hands down. The prosecutors way over charged him.
