There was ZERO evidence that Iran was going to do that. Trump knew this but him and the other corrupt leader in Israel, wanted a war. Bibi needs it to keep him out of prison. Trump had no plan to go in or get out.

The Iranians are not even truly negotiating. First, because as the U.S. has consistently betrayed deals with Iran for the past 75, unless there are other powers involved they know any agreement is worthless.
Secondly, they know what Trump just wants to proclaim a win in the media. They could easily just capitulate for a few months and then resume again; especially if the political landscape in the U.S. changes in November.
So really their strategy is to just keep toying back and forth just rage baiting Trump. Also the regimes in Iran originally had waning support from the population, but the more actions they provoke from the U.S. the more the population supports their leadership. This makes regime change less and less likely every day. Plus you can guarantee China is so happy that the U.S. is depleting its stockpiles of munitions, most of which are dependent upon chips made in Taiwan.
