USA could not even host this by itself, she needed to co-host if with Canada and Mexico. Trump did not even show up for the opening game in LA. The only time he payed attention to the World Cup is when he meddled amd made that FIFA dude open show how corrupted FIFA is and what an arrogant bully American president is. And even fhat intervention did not help – USA lost miserably !
