If the Republicans “take over voting”, we would be obligated to restore democracy by armed force. There comes a point where that is more duty than option. There comes a point where protest marches and candlelight vigils are not enough.

This kind of rhetoric alone is ample grounds for impeachment. Republican indifference would signal that their entire party needs to be regarded simply as if an invading enemy, not a sharing partner, of “gentleman’s disagreement”, to which we should be “reaching across the aisle”.

The greater danger is not a provocative , OPEN takeover of elections. The real danger is quiet rigging of the voting count, that leaves you guessing, trying to prove with withheld evidence, while being gaslighted.

The Republican party has crossed far too many red lines. It not our duty to trust the vote on the say-so of those in power. It is their duty to proactively demonstrate bipartisan safeguards, to our satisfaction.

This wouldn’t be a question if Blue cities (there are no blue states) were lawfully managing their roles in federal elections.
