I wanted to like this one but very disappointed. Why/how do American’s not understand our Country? YES things are not perfect but NOT knowing how the Country is set up even. The reason each State is SO different is set up that way! They SHOULD be independent. The people in that State VOTE for the people and power and justice system they want. Don’t like the way a State is run? you have the power to move or vote for changes. The Federal Government is set up to make each State Commerce together. (play in the sandbox together) Some states labs are SO backed up due to high crimes. FBI labs get backed up also due to high crimes. It’s also about the $$$ to test so much stuff also. Maybe we can do more good in getting prices down or raising $$ to get more tests done quicker?
To answer Khloe’s question about Bryan Kohberger at 44:14 even though there is a mountain of evidence against Kohberger, the families still have to go to court because the judge entered a “not guilty” plea for him at his arraignment. Normally, when someone is arrested and arraigned, the judge asks “how do you plead?” and you can say guilty or not guilty. Pleading not guilty usually means going to trial to fight the charges. Sometimes during trial prep, the defense realizes they might lose and decides to take a plea deal, though deals aren’t always on the table. On the other hand, pleading guilty means admitting to the crime, which skips the trial completely and goes straight to sentencing. The reason the judge entered ‘not guilty” for Kohberger was because he stood there silent and declined to offer a plea himself. Under criminal procedure rules, when a defendant refuses or fails to plead, the court enters a plea of not guilty to preserve their constitutional rights, and because of that not guilty plead, they had to go to trial. Hope that explains it.
