Please you are just entertainment. Please keep political comments out.
Here’s a song no one here has ever heard! ‘I Met A Man’ by Angela Lansbury from the ill-fated musical Prettybelle, which closed in Boston in 1970, keeping Angela from another Tony. From the composers of Funny Girl, but 1/2 musical comedy and 1/2 pseudo-Sondheim, and 60% too much for the conservative Boston audience. The song, and most of the others, are on youtube if you look. Imagine an Angela Lansbury musical you never knew existed!
@clintonparks6357 1. The comments are relevant to an excellent and prophetic song. 2. Please learn to live in a complex world. There is no such thing as ‘just entertainment’ unless you have utter contempt for the arts.
I’m disappointed. As wonderful as these Act 1 closers are, many don’t set up the following act, or have the emotional impact of Gypsy’s Everything’s Coming Up Roses. For more than 5 decades, audiences have been overwhelmed when a charismatic, obsessed stage mother denies irremediable failure by refocusing her relentless vision on her older, untalented daughter. In one scene, Madam Rose convinces the audience that stardom is an act of sheer will.
@weavrmom Nope, the comments are opinions shared by some but not by others. The videos can be described without just adding so many political comments. It’s not that hard.
I know it’s really new but Run, Run, Brother from the outsiders is an amazing closing of the first act
no Alive Reprise is crazy
Nailed it with One Day More for number 1. That number sends you marching off to the bathrooms.
