This is a bad cross examination and the Prosecution did not put their case well. The questions should be sharp and brief, no room for comment by the cross examining counsel as it leads to speculation. Non-leading questions are not allowed because you do not want to be in the EIC arena, in other words that job belongs to the other’s party’s own counsel. Why? Because asking non-leading questions , such as “what, why, how” lead to defendant to give open ended answers at which case you might lose the control of your D and make no favour to the jury because jury would also get lost as to what the counsel is trying to achieve. Ring-fencing would have been a lot more tactical. Also why end questions with ‘right?’ where you can ask ‘you did not, did you, that helped your business, didn’t it? If we conduct X in the way that the American attorneys do, UK judges would reprimand us.

It’s so weird how he’s able to control himself now that he’s locked up. He has been beat up twice but there has been no physical impulsivity on his part…. I wonder why 🤔

Im shocked he decided to take the stand and thought that would help. Another delusion of grandeur- actual lunatic.
