The TARDIS materialises in what appears to be a no-man’s-land on a World War I battlefront in France. When the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe emerge from a cloud of mist into another period of time, they realise that they are in fact on an entirely different planet that has been split into different time zones – where a fierce war is being waged in each one.

The wars are controlled by ‘aliens’, who have gathered soldiers form many periods of history, brainwashed them and put them to battle with the aim of forming an invincible army from the survivors to take over the galaxy. The War Lord is assisted by a Security Chief and a War Chief, the latter of whom the Doctor quickly recognises as a member of his own race… the Time Lords!

First Broadcast between the 19th April – 21st June 1969

Starring Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor alongside Frazer Hines (Jamie McCrimmon) and Wendy Padbury (Zoe Heriot)

Patrick Troughton’s face is truly that of a unique actor. All the Doctors are incredibly devoted to creating the character and the progression through to Capaldi was so intriguing throughout the years. Unfortunately the writing also comes into play. I tried to watch Jodi Whitaker and have heard many times that she is a good actor. Just never could stand the stories.

i enjoyed Patrick way more then i thought i did, when i started the second doctor i thought he was gonna be my least favorite from his appearance, boy was i wrong, just like every other doctor from 9-15 ive already seen, he grew on me and this last arc was amazing but alas i must say my goodbye to Patrick Troughton and say hello to John Pertwee, i cant wait to see what he’ll be like as the doctor
