The TARDIS arrives in December 1986 at a South Pole Space Tracking station where the personnel, under the command of General Cutler, are engaged in trying to talk down a manned space capsule that has got into difficulty. When things couldn’t get much worse, the base is invaded by a force of Cybermen! The Cybermen’s planet, Mondas, is draining energy from Earth – once its ‘twin planet’ – and the situation will soon become critical…
The original 1966 master recording of episode 4 was lost soon after the programme’s original transmission. However, audio-only recordings have survived and have been used to create a brand new fully animated reconstruction of the missing episode.

I love the idea of someone going “yeah lets connect the rocket silo with the living quarters by vent with no filter, Let the soldiers breaths the rocket fumes”

This was evidently before the Cybermen welded four fingers into two plus a thumb
This is my favourite Cyberman design. They’re obviously people, but clearly augmented with metal and plastic. They look like a surgery gone wrong.
General Cutler’s son (Terry Cutler played by Callen Angelo) put on an excellent American accent…until it came to the word “been’. Americans pronounce as “bin” or “ben” . . .
I’ve seen film versions of parts of the ending segments of this where animation has been patched on. I wonder why they weren’t blended in ….
