Eventhough I have no background in medicine, I absolutely loved the way they made an episode more focued and decdicating the nurses – I think they actually should have gone even further and should have completely flipped the script and have the doctors (and “regulars” how the writer said) be in the background for just one episode, so that we can get that same visceral and personal, real time, over the shoulder feeling we know from the Pitt – but just focused on the nurses. Like a real “The Pitt – Nurses Edition” episode. I wouldn’t be surprised if they discussed this in the writers room, but my guess is, such a total shift would have weirded out the viewer. I think they could have pulled it off… Anyways, I think they did the right blend with that episode though – probably one of my favorite episodes of the show up until now…

I’m so glad to see that this season the nurses are being showcased. Yeah, doctors are important but, c’mon, they’d be helpless without the nurses.

Many years ago my sister was a nurse at Presby in Pittsburgh. She talked about the day when a resident (I think it was a resident) prescribed a medication and dosage that she knew was incorrect. She kept asking him over and over if he was sure…. He kept saying yes, but then realized that he was wrong.. So they called the pharmacy to get an opinion. It was an incorrect medication for the patient’s condition and it was about 10 times too much. It would have killed the patient. I asked her what she would do if he didn’t back off and she said she would call the pharmacy and report it.

funny, after the ep where Santos is told she doesn’t want to repeat R2 for not finishing charting; I saw many YT comments fron Drs that said that wasn’t a thing and just seeing the podcast ep’s 5 & 6 today as well saying the same thing
